The Your Place _in Shawi project is carried out in collaboration with the Carrefour JEunesse Shawinigan, the City of Shawinigan, and the Centre de services scolaire de l’Énergie. It aims to introduce young people to Shawinigan’s most promising career opportunities, highlight its key sectors of excellence and emerging businesses, and showcase the region’s quality of life.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
- Familiarize students with local job opportunities
- Identify potential employers
- Explore Shawinigan’s key sectors of excellence and businesses in the new economy
- Improve the region’s image among young people
- Counter youth outmigration
TARGET AUDIENCE
- Grade 10 students (Secondary 4), as well as students in exploratory or special education programs
- Adult education students
- Participants in various CJE (Carrefour JEunesse) projects and others
- Immigrants on exploratory visits
